The topic of our educational seminar will be entitled Human Milk Fortifications: Why, When and What? This is a fairly technical presentation from the 2011 ILCA Conference, but provides helpful information for you as a breastfeeding professional. Call Laura at 451-1632 with any questions or concerns.

The Fairbanks Breastfeeding Coalition meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:00PM. The meetings held on the odd months of the year focus on community breastfeeding advocacy, while the even months have an educational focus. You are welcome to attend as a breastfeeding professional, interested community member, or passionate breastfeeding mother.

Parent Pit Stop Volunteers Needed
Be part of supporting the Fairbanks Breastfeeding Coalition and young families in our community by volunteering at the Parent Pit Stop at the Tanana Valley State Fair this year!
Volunteers are needed each day of the fair, August 3-12.
3 hour shifts are available from 1-4PM, 4-7PM, and 7-10PM.
Volunteers receive a free entry to the fair, courtesy of Fairbanks Families.
Volunteers are responsible for making sure that the Parent Pit Stop stays safe and clean for families to change diapers and feed their young children.

World Breastfeeding Week is coming up the first week of August... Now is the time to be thinking how we would like to celebrate it as a community. This year's theme is "The Road to Lifelong Health Begins With Breastfeeding." More information can be found on the ILCA Worldbreastfeeding Week Website.
